    Cody Marrs

    Cody Marrs (Ph.D. UC Berkeley; Editor, 1820–1865) is Professor of English at the University of Georgia. He is the author of Melville, Beauty, and American Literary Studies: An Aesthetics in All Things and two books on literature and the Civil War, one of which was awarded the Montaigne Medal. Marrs has published and presented widely on Herman Melville and edited or co-edited several volumes on Melville and his contemporaries. The four-volume series Nineteenth-Century American Literature in Transition, for which he served as general editor, was nominated for an MLA Prize for an Edited Collection.
